MO 12 ATTRITION MILL

DESCRIPTION

The disc or Attrition Mill is a modem counterpart of the early Burrstone Mill. Stones arc replaced by steel discs mounting interchangeable metal of abrasive grinding plates rotating at high speeds thus permitting a much broader range of application. They have a place in the grinding of tough organic materials such as wood pulp and corn grits. Grinding takes place between the plates, which may operate in a vertical or horizontal plane. One or both discs may be rotated. The assembly Comprises a shaft, discs and grinding plate is called a runner. Feed material enters a chute near the axis passes between the grinding plates and is discharged at the periphery of the discs. The grinding plates are bolted to disc. The distance between them is adjustable. The present Attrition Mill consists of two vertical disc of Cast Iron out of which one is stationary and other is rotating. This Mill can accept a feed size up to 7mm. A motor 1 HP is driving the runner shaft with belt drive. Arrangement to agitate the feed in feed hopper and to control the feed rate is provided. An adjusting screw with locking arrangement is provided to adjust the gap of plate to maintain product quality.
