MT 23 MASS TRANSFER WITH/WITHOUT CHEMICAL REACTION (SOLID-LIQUID SYSTEM)

DESCRIPTION

The set-up is designed to demonstrate and study the mass transfer with/without chemical reaction in a solid-liquid system.

The set up consists of Stainless Steel Baffled Reactor placed in a water bath. The reactor is fitted with a variable speed stirrer shaft. In place of agitator a solid cylinder of Benzoic Acid is stirred in the reactor. This arrangement is done by using a Peltilizer provided with the set up. The temperature of reactor via water bath can be independently varied to simulate different conditions using digital temp. Controller.

EXPERIMENTS

  • Dissolution of Benzoic acid in water: Kinetic studies
  • Dissolution of Benzoic acid with reaction in aqueous NaOH solution

FEATURES

  • Superb Painted structure
  • Simple to operate & maintain
  • Compact & stand alone set up

UTILITIES REQUIRED

  • Water Supply & Drain
  • Electricity Supply: 1Phase, 220 V AC, 0.5 kW
  • Instruments, Laboratory Glassware and Chemicals required for analysis as per the system adopted
