TECHNICAL DETAILS

A transparent column consisting of 12 sections. All 12 sections are connected in series by flanges with a baffle between them. The column should contain the following. (Please see section E for top and bottom section connections)

Single Unit Specifications:

Internal Diameter of column (D): 25 mm (1 inch)

Height of unit (L)                      : 1.6D – 2.0D

Material of construction            : PMMA/ any other transparent material

Column thickness                     : 2-3 mm (appropriate for fittings)

Baffles: (Any other arrangement to join the units which is leak proof and satisfy the requirements will also be considered)

Material Construction for Baffle    : SS 304

Baffle type                                              : Single orifice at center

Number of Baffles                          : 15

Orifice diameter                            : 0.45D (Single orifice)

Baffle thickness                                        : 1-2 mm

Flanges:

Flange Thickness: 6- 8 mm

Flange material    : Acrylic

Valves and Fittings:

Each section needs to have a valve (¼ inch) at the middle of the section to collect the sample

Other fitting as required to assemble the column

Column inlet and outlet sections:

Bottom Section: The bottom part of the column section should directly be connected to outlet of piston pump/oscillation system

Top Section: Top section of the column should be provisionally closed (¼ inch outlet to collect products and ½ inch hole for pressure gauge connection)

Sparger: Sparger assembly at bottom section to distribution of gas:  1 mm holes in sparger

Entire column with fittings should be leak proof

Supporting and mounting stand for all of units in series (entire column) without any vibrations:   One side of the column should be attached with a supporting panel with proper numbering of samples valves of the each section.

Pump Specifications: to pump liquid to column

Flow Rate: 0 to 3 Liters per Minute (Adjustable) with low (0.1 HP) Horse Power; accuracy of pump (0.01 LPM). (Pump will be a fixed flow type but we can adjust flow data from 10-100% by using rotameter provided.)

Oscillation System: The oscillation to the liquid system should be given using a reciprocating piston pump housed outside the column but connected with the column with proper sealing. The system should be controlled to run at different frequencies and amplitudes in the range 0- 20 Hz (1 Hz interval) and amplitude 0-25 mm (5 mm interval)

Optional: Multi orifice Baffles (0.04D with 11 orifices (holes)

Optional: A storage tank of 100L capacity with inlet and outlet connections compatible with pump and column assembly.
